PhenCoCo is a transnational community of researchers exploring dialogue between phenomenological approaches to mind and contemporary cognitive sciences and technologies, spanning philosophy of mind, cognitive science, artificial intelligence, digital culture, and ethics. Since 2013, we have cultivated slow, shared reflection as a core research practice.

We meet in three formats:

Colloquia are organized online via Discord in response to emerging topics, current research developments, or timely events (typically Wednesdays, 19:00 CET). Invited speakers from diverse disciplines introduce focused themes, followed by open, in-depth interdisciplinary discussion.

Open Regulars’ Tables take place roughly monthly in Berlin (Café Marral, Torstraße 222, 10115 Berlin; Wednesdays, 19:00 CET), continuing ongoing inquiries shaped by recent sessions and members’ interests. Please consult the event list for current dates.

Reading Circles bring small groups together for slow reading and sustained dialogue around selected texts, read in advance and discussed through contextualization, conceptual clarification, and collective interpretation.

Our discussions span the sciences and humanities, technology, digitalization, and society, with sustained attention to philosophical and epistemological questions. Participants from diverse backgrounds contribute to a space of shared inquiry and conceptual development.
